Applicant Information

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation is a private, nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that provides funding on a competitive basis for projects that sustain, restore and enhance the Nation’s fish, wildlife, plants and their habitats.

General Information

Potential applicants are encouraged to review the Applicant FAQs in the menu to the left prior to submitting an application. This section provides valuable information related to the Foundation's application process, application content, and what to expect if an award is made.

Where to Apply

Federal, state, and local governments, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations are welcome to apply for matching grants twice annually, through the Keystones program. Before submitting an application, please carefully review the guidelines and conservation goals for the applicable Keystone Initiative.

Additional opportunities exist through the Foundation’s Charter Programs. The scope, guidelines, and timelines vary by program. Prospective applicants should review the list of Charter programs to determine which may be appropriate for their needs.

Foundation's On-line Grant Application System - Easygrants

In March 2008, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation launched Easygrants, a new on-line grant application and management system.  Easygrants is designed to fit the Foundation’s business processes and offers a user-friendly interface for applicants and recipients in all aspects of proposal submission and grants management.

Easygrants Highlights

Allows returning applicants secure access to update and reuse prior proposals and their contact profile information.

Applicants can access their pre-proposals and full proposals an unlimited number of times, saving each time, before final submission.

Applicants can download a PDF version of their proposals for their own records.

Easygrants Resources
