Evaluation

This site is new and will continue to grow over time.  For further information, please contact Matt Birnbaum, the Foundation’s Conservation Science Officer for Evaluation at matthew.birnbaum@nfwf.org

Information for Applicants Applying for Foundation Grants

The Foundation has made major reforms in its grant-making policies to further focus in learning together with our grantees and our partners about the conservation results associated with our investments.  To help applicants learn more about the new tools (including logic frameworks) and terminology, view Applicant Assistance.

The Grants Library

As part of the movement for open standards and results-based performance in conservation, the Foundation is developing a conservation library to help interested parties better understand different aspects of the Foundation’s past grants.  Visit the Grants Library for more information.

The Environmental Evaluators Network

Individuals in the fields of natural resource conservation and environmental management increasingly need to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of projects and programs, particularly in terms of environmental outcomes. The purpose of the Environmental Evaluators network is to improve the field of environmental evaluation by fostering partnerships where we can share knowledge on innovative approaches and learn more systematically from our collective experiences.  The Network is comprised of environmental, conservation, and natural resource evaluators and evaluation consumers. Individuals from academia, consulting organizations, foundations, government agencies, and non-profit organizations are all welcome to participate.   The membership is international.  Please visit the Environmental Evaluators Network.
