S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation
The S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation partnered with NFWF in 2007 on the
Pacific Grassroots Salmonid Initiative—a program that strengthened
local capacity for stewardship of priority salmonid habitat on the
Pacific coast. Beginning in 2008, Bechtel joined NFWF to
support the Nature Restoration Trust—a program that benefits fish,
wildlife, and plants by providing educational opportunities and
encouraging community involvement in conservation efforts in northern
and central California.

Houston Endowment, Inc.
The Houston Endowment is supporting NFWF's initiative to bolster the
population of the endangered Attwater's Prairie Chicken in Texas.
Decimated by the loss of its Texas coastal prairie habitat to human
development, the Attwater’s Prairie Chicken teeters on the brink
of extinction with only 75 birds remaining in the wild. Strategic
investments in research, habitat acquisition, and breeding/rearing
facilities could allow the species to grow by 1,250 percent in the next
ten years.

William Penn has been a partner of NFWF’s Delaware Estuary
Watershed Program since the program’s inception six years ago.
NFWF’s Delaware Estuary program provides support to organizations
working on a local level to protect and improve watersheds in the
estuary, while building citizen-based resource stewardship. Now in its
sixth year, the program has awarded 134 grants, providing over $3.8
million in federal and private funds that were leveraged with an

Turner Foundation, Inc.
The Turner Foundation, founded in 1990 by Ted Turner, seeks to fund
organizations focusing on initiatives that highlight habitat restoration
and sustainable living. Their partnership has further amplified the
ability of NFWF to carry out our mission of sustaining, restoring, and
enhancing the nation’s fish, wildlife, plants, and habitats. Most
recently the Turner Foundation has supported NFWF’s Acres for
America program and their funds helped protect more than 11,000 acres of
longleaf pine forest in Florida’s panhandle.
