The Budweiser Cents-per-Case program was initiated in 1998 as part of a partnership between Anheuser-Busch and NFWF. The program helps to conserve vital upland habitats, enhance wetlands, and sustain healthy wild game and non-game populations across North America.
Grants are awarded exclusively to four program partners: Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Quality Deer Management Association, Ducks Unlimited and Delta Waterfowl.
Funding comes from a percentage of the proceeds of all sales of Budweiser products from cooperating wholesalers during the months of September and October each year. All funds are administered and matched by NFWF.
Since its inception, the Budweiser Cents-per-Case campaign and affiliated program have generated $11.28 million dollars for more than 48 different conservation projects. In 2012, the program supported the following projects:
- Horse Creek Ranch Acquisition, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation;
- Conserving Dakota Grass and Water for Waterfowl and Birds, Ducks Unlimited;
- Duck Habitat and Breeding Success, Delta Waterfowl;
- Private Landowner Cooperative Position, Quality Deer Management Association.
The program operates on an annual cycle. NFWF anticipates accepting full proposals in September 2013 and making award decisions in November 2013.
