Many of the threats to beach-nesting birds on Long Island are directly related to human activities on beaches. This project will address this challenge by moving beyond traditional education and outreach to use social marketing – a creative approach to catalyzing social change. The social marketing campaign aims to change public perceptions and behaviors that contribute to identified threats on and around Long Island’s North Shore.
