Description: This project will increase conservation, outreach, and education efforts in Alaska’s Kuskokwim and Yukon watersheds and the Doyon region through the Alaska Native Science & Engineering Program (ANSEP) at the University of Alaska. This project will support the ANSEP Summer Bridge and University Success components with students completing their internships with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS). Students from the region bring their local experience, traditional ecological knowledge, and Yup'ik language skills. Funding from this proposal will develop a pathway for students to return to their communities as resource management professionals.

Matching Contribution: $45,000.00
Location: Kuskokwim Watershed (with an emphasis on the Yukon-Delta National Wildlife Refuge) and the Doyon region of Alaska.
