Restoration Gulf Coast: Florida Sea Turtles

Bookmark and Share

From the moment it hatches, a sea turtle is faced with multiple perils.  In fact, just 1 in 10,000 sea turtles survives to adulthood.  Since 2002, marine biologists at the Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet, Florida, have helped rehabilitate more than 16,000 sea turtles and returned them to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. This important work is funded in part by the Recovered Oil Fund for Wildlife, administered by NFWF.
