Restoration Gulf Coast: Mississippi Shrimpers

For a great many shrimpers on Mississippi's Gulf Coast, the ocean is more than just the source of their livelihood, it's part of their heritage. For this reason, they feel a responsibility to keep all of its inhabitants safe from harm. Using money from the NFWF-administered Recovered Oil Fund for Wildlife, which funds projects that support wildlife populations in the Gulf of Mexico, the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources was able to outfit hundreds of Mississippi's shrimping boats with Turtle Excluder Devices (TEDs) to help keep sea turtles safe.
