Description:

The Montrose Settlement Restoration Program (MSRP) is funding habitat restoration work on both Anacapa and Santa Barbara Island in the Channel Islands. On Anacapa Island, specific goals include seabird habitat restoration, an increase in native vegetation diversity, and establishment of a local seed source, rare plant recovery/increase, engaging in outreach and educational opportunities, and improving aesthetics. On Santa Barbara Island, the project will restore a historic colony of Cassin’s Auklets and improve nesting conditions for Scripps’s Murrelets. Project methodologies are primarily focused on plant restoration to benefit both species.
