NFWF Grant Profile

Assess waved albatross and Humboldt penguin bycatch in small-scale fisheries in Peru and Chile. Project will conduct a literature review and interview fishers in 45 ports distributed from northern Peru to southern Chile, targeting three types of fishing gear to inform the scientific community, governmental institutions, fishers and other stakeholders from Peru and Chile about bycatch occurrence and support for implementation of conservation measures focusing on bycatch mitigation.
