Description:

Survey McKay's bunting population, range, refugia, and habitat use on St. Matthew and Hall Islands in Alaska to inform management decisions on the species’ recovery efforts. Project will determine whether the 38% decline in the global breeding population documented between the 2003 and 2018 surveys were a short-term fluctuation that has since abated or is part of a longer-term decline that warrants additional research and possibly remedial actions to recover the species.
