Monarch Butterfly and Pollinators Conservation Fund

The Monarch Butterfly and Pollinators Conservation Fund supports work that advances the conservation of the monarch butterfly and other at-risk native insect pollinators. Originally named the Monarch Butterfly Conservation Fund, the fund added the term ‘Pollinators’ to its title in 2018 to reflect an increased focus on a broader set of priority species.

Restoring eastern hellbenders to southwest Virginia streams

Although eastern hellbenders are the largest salamander in the United States, they can be hard to spot.

A large aquatic salamander, known as a hellbender, rests among submerged rocks in a freshwater stream. The salamander has a flat head, wrinkled skin along its sides, and blends with the brownish-gray tones of the surrounding stones. The water is clear, revealing the rocky bottom and scattered small debris.

You might not think of the ocean floor as a place that is bustling with noise.

National Coastal Resilience Fund

The National Coastal Resilience Fund (NCRF), established in 2018, invests in nature-based solutions that protect coastal communities while enhancing habitats for fish and wildlife. The National Coastal Resilience Fund invests in conservation projects that restore, increase and strengthen natural infrastructure such as coastal marshes and wetlands, dune and beach systems, oyster and coral reefs, rivers and floodplains, coastal forest, and barrier islands that mitigate the impacts of storms and other coastal hazards to communities.
