Northeast Forests and Rivers Fund

Northeast Forests and Rivers Fund is dedicated to restoring and sustaining healthy forests and rivers that provide habitat for diverse native bird and freshwater fish populations in the Northeastern United States. The program annually awards competitive grants ranging from $75,000 to $300,000 each.

Crown Family Philanthropies

The Crown Family supports the Chi-Cal Rivers Fund, which invests in the health and vitality of the communities, waterways and natural resources of the Chicago/Calumet region, and a new funder collaboration under the Sustain Our Great Lakes program, which will enhance habitat and water quality in Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan watershed.

Southwest Rivers Headwaters Fund

The Southwest Rivers Headwaters Fund is dedicated to restoring, protecting, and enhancing aquatic and riparian species and their habitats in the headwaters of the Rio Grande and Colorado River watersheds.

Desert Terminal Lakes Restoration Fund

Desert Terminal Lakes (DTL) funding was originally established by Public Law 101-171 in 2002 to provide water to a unique collection of at-risk natural desert terminal lakes in the northwestern Great Basin. Subsequent legislative amendments made clear that the freshwater lakes of concern include Pyramid, Summit, and Walker Lakes in Nevada and their associated watersheds.

Sky Island Grasslands

NFWF’s Sky Islands Grasslands Conservation Program works to restore high quality grasslands, ecosystem functioning, and self-sustaining populations of native species in the Southwest.

Shasta Valley Regional Conservation Partnership Program

The Shasta Valley Regional Conservation Partnership Program (Shasta Valley Program) advances the recovery of the Southern Oregon/Northern California Coast (SONCC) coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch), a species listed as “threatened” under to the Federal Endangered Species Act, throughout the Shasta River watershed while building drought resilience among agricultural producers in the Shasta Valley.

Hawai‘i Conservation Program

The National Fish and Wildlife Fund’s Hawai‘i Conservation Program aims to strategically protect and enhance essential habitats in Hawai‘i, from mauka to makai (from the mountains to the ocean), to reduce extinction risk and sustain resilient populations of native species.
