Long Island Sound Funders Collaborative

The mission of the Long Island Sound Funders Collaborative is to restore the Sound based on the Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan for Long Island Sound. We see the benefits of collaboration because issues Long Island Sound faces are not solved alone. One collaboration is the Long Island Sound Stewardship Fund, which offers grants aligned with NFWF’s Long Island Sound Futures Fund.

William Penn Foundation

The William Penn Foundation funds the restoration of water quality and aquatic habitats of the Delaware River and its tributaries.

Long Island Sound Study

The Long Island Sound Study (LISS) has partnered with NFWF since 2005 to deliver the Long Island Sound Futures Fund, which supports projects that restore the health and living resources of the Sound.

Walmart

In partnership with NFWF, Walmart’s Acres for America conservation program has helped to protect more than 2.1 million acres of vital wildlife habitat across the nation since its creation in 2005.

Sierra Pacific Industries

Sierra Pacific Industries supports the Pacific Southwest Fuels Management Partnership conservation program to improve forest management and recovery of threatened and endangered species that depend on California’s forested landscape.

U.S. Department of the Navy

The U.S. Department of the Navy has partnered with NFWF since 2020 to protect, restore, and enhance targeted native limestone forest, ravine forest, and savanna habitats in Guam to support conservation and recovery of federally listed and at-risk species.

Chesapeake Bay Partnership

The Chesapeake Bay Program is a regional partnership that leads and directs Chesapeake Bay restoration and protection.

Bezos Earth Fund

The Bezos Earth Fund is Jeff Bezos’s $10 billion commitment to fund scientists, activists, NGOs and other actors that will drive climate and nature solutions. By allocating funds creatively, wisely and boldly, the Bezos Earth Fund has the potential for transformative influence in this decisive decade. Funds will be fully allocated by 2030—the date by which the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals must be achieved.

American Forest Foundation

The American Forest Foundation supports conservation programs across multiple NFWF landscapes in the eastern half of the country to improve habitat for forest-dependent, at-risk wildlife, while increasing the amount of family forests under sustainable, active management.

Sysco

Through the Southern Plains Grassland Program, Sysco and NFWF will help ranchers implement sustainable grazing practices to improve soil health, promote biodiversity and protect the environment for future generations. As a major global beef purchaser and distributor, this partnership supports Sysco’s sustainable beef sourcing commitment to drive positive environmental and social impacts in the beef supply chain.
